Five scientists from the Wrocław University of Environmental and Life Sciences received grants within the National Science Centre competition – Opus 15. Their combined value is almost 4 million PLN.

Three of our projects have received funding under the PRELUDIUM BIS 3 competition announced by the National Science Centre. As a result, doctoral students from the UPWr Doctoral School selected in the competition, together with their supervisors, will conduct research on healthy sweeteners, multi-GNSS positioning and the use of combined fruit emulsification and drying techniques for health-promoting purposes.

The Department of Systems Research is a new unit created within the Faculty of Spatial Economy and Landscape Architecture. It is headed by Dr. Iwona Kaczmarek.

NAWA – the National Agency for Academic Exchange, has granted funding under the STER programme for the Internationalisation of Doctoral Schools. The Doctoral School of the Wrocław University of Environmental and Life Sciences came in third place among 16 institutions, receiving over PLN 2 million in funding.

Over PLN 2.6 million will be allocated to UPWr scientists for research under grants awarded in the National Science Center PRELUDIUM BIS 4 competition. The funded projects will contribute to increasing food safety, improving methods of prevention and treatment of salmonellosis and the use of yeast in biofuel production, among other things.

On 20 May Prof. Józef Sowiński from the Faculty of Life Sciences and Technology was given the title of Honorary Professor of Kostanai Social-Technical University in Kazakhstan.
