Agnieszka Krawczyk-Łebek from the Department of Food Chemistry and Biocatalysis of the UPWr, together with her scientific supervisors – Prof. Edyta Kostrzewa-Susłow, Dr. Tomasz Janeczko and Dr. Monika Dymarska, has won the main prize in the 12th edition of the Student-Inventor competition. Her series of 38 inventions concerning new flavonoid glycosides with potential antimicrobial activity was recognised in the competition. The prize is participation in the International Exhibition of Inventions

Natalia Romek has been chosen to take part in the US BioLAB research internship programme. Under the supervision of Dr. Gary Gorbski, she will study cancer cells at the Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation.

The international project ENVIRE, in which Dr. Marta Kuźmińska-Bajor and her team are participating, has received funding under the JPI-AMR Action Call 2021 programme. Scientists are to study drug resistance of bacteria that appear on poultry farms, and look for solutions to limit its existence.

As part of her PhD studies, Malwina Mularczyk, a doctoral student of the UPWr Doctoral School, plans to create a supplement for horses with properties preventing insulin resistance, which is responsible for metabolic syndrome.

Our scientists from the Faculty of Environmental Engineering and Geodesy are participating in a prestigious project of observing the European tectonic plate. The National Information Processing Institute (which has a status National Research Institute) has signed a contract for carrying out the EPOS-PL programme, which received 53 million PLN.
